Application Process

If You Find Programs Are Closed At The Moment –

Did you navigate to the training programs page only to find out our programs are currently closed? Do not worry, to be notified of when training programs open up again please just fill out the form found at: https://rcwpri.org/training-interest/ | if when you navigate to the page it says the page can not be found it is because the training programs are currently open. This is exciting news because that means you can go ahead and apply to the training program today!

If Applications Are Open –

Now that our training programs are open again you can navigate to the training programs page which has all the programs being offered currently, https://rcwpri.org/training-programs/. If you click on any one of the cards representing the training program you can read all about what the program is offering, and other details. 

In the information page of the specific program, on the right side of your screen (on a computer) or if you scroll down to the bottom of the page (on mobile) you will find an “Apply Today” button, clicking on this button will take you to the form that needs to be filled out for you to be considered a candidate. Once you have filled this form out you’re ready for the next step.

Application is Filled Out – 

Alright, our application form is all filled out with the program of your choosing and you’ve received a confirmation email letting you know that the form was submitted.

What happens next is, that you wait for an email to arrive from the “rcwpri.org” domain, which you might want to whitelist with your email client (like Gmail, outlook, etc.) This second email is our pre-info session questionnaire and it is how you select the date that you want to attend the mandatory info session, you must attend this info session for continued consideration as a candidate, without attendance to the info session you would be considered a withdrawal, and may impact your chances of being selected in the future. 

Once you’ve selected the date for the info session you’ll get another email confirming the submittance of the questionnaire, in this confirmation you’ll also get an aerial map of the location, the location address, the date and time of the info session.

Info Session – 

What you can expect from the info session is a lot of information about the training programs and the organization, you might want to bring a notepad to take notes. The info sessions are conducted so you get a better idea for what you have applied for, you maybe were interested in carpentry, electrical, etc., and said to yourself “I’ll pick up a new skill, let me apply” but you will find that you’re getting more than a skill when you go through our training programs. This info session is also an excellent way to meet the team that is going to be supporting you throughout the life of the program and beyond.

After the Info Session –

After attending the info session you will get an email asking you to fill out a questionnaire, in this questionnaire you are asked if you are still interested in participating in the program, this is where you decide to re-commit, or re-commit and change the program you’re interested in or decline further consideration as a candidate. At RCWP we understand that sometimes now isn’t the best time for you to make this commitment to our programs, if you choose to decline this time around it does not hurt your chances at being accepted into a training program in the future.

Completing the questionnaire ensures that your consideration as a candidate continues. From here on out, it is just a waiting game to hear back from us whether you have been accepted into the program or not. Do not worry if you weren’t selected this time around you can apply to a program in the future.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have a set time for any of the emails going out to candidates. For example: if you submitted your application today, you will get the info session invitation email 2 weeks from today (we do not do this), with us you may sometimes get an email within a week other times it may come 3 or 4 weeks after submitting your questionnaires or forms, it all depends on how far out from the start of programs we are. Please just keep an eye on your emails 😊.
