This FREE Training Program is valued at $7,000 per participant!

  • 57 hours for 10-weeks (*)
  • Classes follow the Statewide School Calendar for vacations and holidays
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Location:  RCWP 599 Arnold Road, Coventry, RI 02816
  • This program is designed to give students the entry level skills to be employed in the field where employees are in demand.

(*) These training programs are for residential construction, hours obtained do not count towards registered apprenticeship hours.

AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a general drafting and design application used in industry by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers, city planners, kitchen designers and other professionals to prepare technical and architectural drawings. 

The intent of this program is to introduce practical AutoCAD skills and develop familiarity with the AutoCAD software that will allow you to understand how to design and read blueprints, in and outside of AutoCAD. Also, to better UNDERSTAND and COMUNICATE the construction process as a whole. By the end of the program, you will be able to create your own simple drawing set of a design of your choosing.

The AutoCAD Training Program

Will prepare students for entry-level opportunities in which AutoCAD is a necessary skill, like many Kitchen Design Centers and construction companies that have design teams. Students will learn all about scale, the importance of line weights, notes, dimensions, sheet layout, common terminology of blueprints, and best practices from an expert in the field while working on hands-on projects.

The Home Builders Institute (HBI) PACT Program is designed to prepare job seekers looking for a career in residential construction or upskill current construction workers.  PACT is based on HBI’s National Construction Skill Standards and NAHB’s National Green Building Standards™. PACT’s skill achievement records, set by subject matter experts, ensures every participant has the knowledge they must master to be employed in an entry-level or semi-skilled job within the residential construction industry and has a job placement rate of over 80 percent for HBI PACT graduates.

Participants are trained by experienced craftspeople – HBI Certified Instructors and receive upon successful completion:
