This FREE Training Program is valued at $7,000 per participant!

  • Training begins early to mid Spring.
  • Classes follow the Statewide School Calendar for vacations and holidays
  • Location: 555 Moshassuck Valley Industrial Highway, Central Falls, RI 02860 (enter 2 Crow Point Rd, Lincoln, RI 02865 in GPS and our facility is across the street from Fortune Metals. The Moshassuck Valley address doesn’t show up on GPS properly.)
  • Time: Always from 5:30pm to 8:30pm
  • Days: TBD
  • This program is designed to give English Language Learner students the entry level skills to be employed in this remarkable, fast growing field where employees are in high demand.

(*) These training programs are for residential construction, hours obtained do not count towards registered apprenticeship hours. 

BCTELL 

The BCTELL program is a basic carpentry career training program for participants who demonstrate intermediate English Knowledge and is designed to prepare job seekers looking for a career in residential construction or upskill current construction workers.  With an emphasis on contextualized English as a Second Language Training.

The Home Builders Institute (HBI) PACT Program is a pre-apprentice career training program curriculum designed to prepare job seekers looking for a career in residential construction or upskill current construction workers in carpentry.  PACT is based on HBI’s National Construction Skill Standards and NAHB’s National Green Building Standards™. PACT’s skill achievement records, set by subject matter experts, ensures every participant has the knowledge they must master to be employed in an entry-level or semi-skilled job within the residential construction industry and has a job placement rate of over 80 percent for HBI PACT graduates.

Participants are trained by HBI Certified Instructors and receive upon successful completion:

  • Hands-on training 
  • Contextualized English Training
  • Construction Terminology and Math for Construction
  • OSHA 10 Construction training and card
  • Initial 8-hour Lead Safe Renovate Repair and Painting Rule training certificate
  • HBI Pre-Apprentice Carpentry certificate
  • First Aid, AED and CPR training and certificate
  • Soft Skills
  • Employability
  • Team Building
  • Professionalism and Success in the workplace training
  • Manufacturer Boot Camps for expert installation training, techniques & tips
  • Financial Empowerment

Each participant receives a basic set of trade tools to use during training. Participant is allowed to keep those tools if they secured employment at the time of graduation.

 

Requirements

Job Seekers: Career Changers and those seriously interested in pursuing a Career in Construction.

  • At least Intermediate level of English
  • No age requirement, just needs to be done or out of high school
  • High school or GED is not required
  • If an Immigrant, must have work authorization #

Employers: Upskill your current employees or sponsor a candidate you’d like to hire with a commitment of a wage increase or a job during or upon training completion.

Applicants MUST be SERIOUS, MOTIVATED, and COMMITTED to start a full-time career in this field or obtain the skills necessary to advance with their current employer.  Unemployed or underemployed applicants must make a commitment to seek employment at RCWPJobs.com, our placement resources and other resources student will find on their own.
